Like most Canadians we live or lived in a narrow strip of the nation, near the 49th parallel in close proximity to the USA. However, our district in south central Saskatchewan was unique. The pioneer farmers and their families stayed for generations and gave us roots and economy. The PFRA managed the arid land. The alkali platform provided industry. The ranchland and rolling hills provided beautiful prairie vista. The oasis of trees that surrounded the town of Ormiston defined the community from every direction. The natural spring at Oro Lake endured to provide a recreation facility that other districts wished for or at least had to drive longer distances to enjoy. Pay homage and applaud the district once again at Ormiston Reunion 2012. Be there!
